A co-production with leading international trade publication The Hollywood Reporter, the new weekly, 30 minute entertainment-based show catered to the China audience will deliver exclusive celebrity and entertainment news direct from Hollywood. The production reunites E! Entertainment Television co-founder Larry Namer with E!'s original VP of Production, the award-winning producer Rick Portin.
“The cross-collaboration of production between our LA and Beijing studios has opened up several new television programming concepts and production processes,” comments Metan's VP of Production, Rick Portin. “These shows are not simply knock-offs on traditional US entertainment news shows, but offer a new mix of Hollywood news and features, responsive and sensitive to the Chinese audience and culture. It’s an exciting time as Hello! Hollywood appeals to a new audience for global entertainment news."
Featuring Chinese-speaking host Chen Juan and The Hollywood Reporter’s James Li, Hello! Hollywood reports on the latest in celebrity and lifestyle news, covering glamorous red carpet events and award shows and offering up special insider tours of Hollywood’s new hotspots. The series will spotlight the latest nightclubs, hotels, restaurants and shops, uncover the hottest music and fashion trends, and report daily fun facts, direct from Hollywood.
“We’ve developed a series that offers the perfect balance of Western entertainment news with local-focused content designed to appeal to Chinese-speaking audiences,” adds Jean Zhang, Co-founder & Executive Vice President, Managing Director of China Operations, Metan. “Young urban Chinese audiences are very curious about what’s going on in Hollywood and the trendiest new products and services. Western brand managers will find in our programming a very comfortable avenue and an efficient and unique way to reach Chinese consumers with their advertising messages.”
